 Dr. Connie Lebrun and Dr. Terry De Freitas

MacEwan University Health Centre is proud to be home to two elite, nationally and internationally recognized Sport and Exercise Medicine physicians: Dr. Connie Lebrun and Dr. Terry De Freitas, who joined the practice on August 15, 2023.

Dr. Lebrun is a Professor, and Dr. De Freitas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. In addition to providing outstanding patient care, they teach and support learners from a variety of medical programs and actively conduct and promote research in the field of Sport and Exercise Medicine.

Services provided include but are not limited to:

• Diagnosing and managing acute, degenerative and overuse joint and muscular problems.
• Treating exercise-related injuries and medical problems.
• Providing care for players in recreational, amateur, elite and professional sports.
• Sport injury prevention.
• Specialize in joint injection treatments, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment and concussion assessments.
